In 1979 Northern England, Nanette Cole, a timid sales assistant, is confronted by the demon Gaap who warns her of an impending catastrophe that only she can stop. Guided by Gaap’s instructions, Nanette must carry out a series of morally challenging actions to prevent disaster, while grappling with the weight of her decisions in a tense and oppressive environment.
